Connection with Secondary Education

In the last years there has been a long-lasting and multifaceted collaboration with primary and mainly secondary education on:

    1. Training of educators on subjects of Physics, and on όσο και σε θέματα innovative teaching methods andprocedures.

    2. Research on innovative teaching methods. On this subject many studies have been and are currently conducted as undergraduate thesis, master thesis and PhDs.

    3. Training students of the School of Physics in teaching in collaboration with secondary school teachers.

    4. Training of upper secondary school students: We are opening the university to students who can voluntarily participate at the established series of events «Wednesdays at the School of Sciences», which is an initiative I run for the last 3 years with the support of PhD and master students. It is open to upper secondary students and teachers, which can participate in a series of elaborative lessons in Physics, from end of October to mid of May.

    5. Introducing preschool, primary and secondary school students, as well as university students, to “Physical Magical” an established series of events organized by the Physics Partizani, group working for the promotion of the magic in Physics, established by Prof Panagiotis Koumaras and myself and supported by PhD students and undergraduate students from the School of Primary Education and the School of Physics.

    6. Radio program at the broadcast station FM 100.6, for the 3rd continuous year organized by the Physics Partizani. This radio show is for everyone with an interest in Physics and Sciences in general.

    7. President of the Scientific Supervising Committee (ΕΠ.Ε.Σ.) of the 1st Experimental Upper Secondary School of Thessaloniki «M. ANDRONIKOS», since 15/02/2012.
